A board game scene showing cavemen facing woolly mammoths.

Many thousands of years ago… small groups of our ancestors populated the cold northern regions of this planet. As the ice sheet advanced and retreated (sometimes on an hourly basis), hunter gatherers survived at the edges of this vast glacier, eking out a living alongside a diverse assortment of flora and fauna… as well as many plants and animals.

Colossal woolly mammoths inhabited the northernmost reaches of man’s environment… building their nests in the shadows cast by steaming volcanoes. There they would lay their enormous mammoth eggs which would in time hatch into yelping broods of mammothettes. Diligently the mammoths would guard their nesting grounds… chasing away any perceived two-legged threat.

The daily struggle between the opposing species intensified as the human population advanced northwards… spear against tusk… brain against brawn… hairy man against even hairier mammoth.

Tragically for the once unstoppable mammoth, man proved to be a cunning, resourceful and determined foe… and human kind ultimately prevailed. The last few surviving mammoths were driven from their natural habitat and into the sea (where they eventually evolved into the modern day walrus).

You are about to play Ugg… the game of cave dweller versus charging mammoth versus hostile wilderness versus cave dweller.

Gather up your flints and head north. The first caveman to complete his task and then make an offering to the mighty volcano… gets the first chew on the animal carcass… and the comfiest rock to sit upon.
