February 15th, 1927.
You’ve heard tell of a scarcely explored underground cavern on a remote Greek island, which contains an ancient stone arena and a hoard of precious treasure.
You are rather fond of treasure (and of money in general), so you are waving farewell to drizzly England and setting sail for sunny Greece… to pillage the locale of its antiquities.
There are some ludicrous rumours that the treasure you crave is guarded by a malign snake goddess, who will attempt to turn a stranger to stone with her terrifying stare. But… you are absolutely convinced this is just silly, superstitious tittle-tattle, invented by simple-minded peasant folk. You sleep easy in your cabin bunk, safe in the knowledge that nothing at all... nothing, nothing, nothing whatsoever... could possibly go wrong.

As you enter the subterranean arena, an eerie mist swirls about you, and through the gloom you see a few familiar faces. It seems your treasure seeking rivals have planned their own Greek odysseys.
So, it is a race to the centre of the arena, to grab as much of the treasure as you can (before someone else gets their selfish, greedy, undeserving hands on it).
Now… what’s that hissing sound?

Make your way to the red areas which surround the Medusa. There you will find her treasures. The Medusa will turn her gaze in different directions.
Place your Accomplishment Token, snatch the treasure and then retreat to a safe distance... before repeating the process.
If you are caught in the Medusa’s gaze, one of several misfortunes may befall you.
If it catches you, the Serpent will take back the Medusa’s treasure.
Thwart your rivals if you see an opportunity to do so.
The first player to lay all their Accomplishment Tokens will take a bonus treasure as a reward. And at the game’s end, the player with the most valuable haul of treasure will be declared the winner.
Gaze of the Medusa is a board game for 2 to 8 grasping, well-to-do aristocrats.
